Design tricycle: the beauty and value of play

This year the collaboration between Italtrike and the French designer Alain Pineau celebrates the important milestone of three decades. It started in 1991 and is now a consolidated partnership. A long and successful journey together, made possible by the continuous sharing of important values. First and foremost, social responsibility towards children and their future, which is reflected in the ‘meaningful design’ of motion toys. Each design tricycle is not just an aesthetically pleasing object but has a more concrete meaning. It helps to develop children’s motor skills, to encourage the independence process, to make their playing experience as enjoyable as possible. It provides them with a set of values accompanying them in building their future.

Safety, quality and cognitive ergonomics are other key principles underlying the design of each new product. This is the result of constant collaboration with psychomotricists, paediatricians and educators to help children grow up having fun and sharing their playtime. We are also close to children in our production processes with a sustainable approach and reduction of environmental impact. So great attention is paid to all the manufacturing steps, from the choice of raw materials to the final result. The tricycle must be functional, sturdy but also aesthetically pleasing to fit well into domestic and school spaces. Thanks to the collaboration with Alain Pineau, design becomes the fil rouge that binds all these values. It is also the most effective way to convey the joy of play in each product and support the adults of tomorrow in their growth.
